Music is a universal language that has shaped the lives of many individuals. From the days of the Bee Gees to Swedish House Mafia dance music has seen many peaks and valleys. Within those ups and downs people in the industry have been affected by it. Two veterans of the music world have lived through it only to emerge as success stories.
The two artists, Chris “The Greek” Panaghi and Josh Harris, both talented producers got their “feet wet” during those years. They learned the importance of a good production by being meticulous with their work. Josh for one learned to play the piano at age seven and made it his business to make music a key part of his life. Chris developed a love for music at a young age and took to the turntables as a teenager spinning at multiple events.
Josh who is a St. Louis native replanted himself in New York where he would connect with Mike Rizzo. Along with Mike they would release a 2001 summer re-mix hit “Never Had A Dream Come True” by S Club 7. The single was the most played single on the mega station WKTU. Josh would rack up some impressive remixes with Mike Rizzo along with his former production team, The Passengerz.
Chris who is a New York native had made a name for himself in the club circuit and had begun working original productions and remixes early on in his career. He has had a long list of successful dance singles with two Top 5 Billboard hits “The Feeling” and “The Time” and a Top 10 Billboard Dance Hit with “Movin’ On”. Chris’ skills in the studio became more evident as he grew as an artist with singles like “My House Is Your House”, “My Life” and “As Good As Sin” which all reached Billboard Top 20 status.
Josh soon found himself working as the musical director for Grammy award winning artist, Seal, for a handful of private shows. This came about after Seal heard the remix of “The Right Life” by Josh. Around the same time he was nominated for the IDMA (International Dance Music Association) “Best Remixer”. His music was also used in “America’s Next Top Model”, MTV’s “Room Raiders” and “Damage Control”.
“We met at the DJ Expo in Atlantic City on the Producer/Remixer panel. Josh and I hit it off as we talked about working together and Kosca was born.” added Chris Panaghi.
As these two talented individuals came together as Kosca, the seed was planted that would soon grow into a lasting musical relationship. They began to release a string of floor bangers that have ripped the roof off clubs internationally. Their first track “Castles In The Sky” modernized the dance music classic from Ian Van Dahl which instantly became a favorite from Club DJ’s and Mixshow DJ’s worldwide. They only upped the ante with “Where The World Takes Us” and “Come Away With Me” which are pure club thumpers.
Besides the club releases the group is also proud of their vocal records like “Love Will Find A Way” and “Falling Down Like Rain”. The later features the vocals of Cristi who reached the finals of X-Factor Hungary, and helped to build on the success by gaining more international support.
“I knew we had something special. Kosca is our thing and we wanted to do it our way.” added Josh Harris.
Currently, Kosca has released a brand new single “Let Me Hear The Music Play” which has begun to make some major noise. It is receiving solid support from Dance Radio and DJ’s as well as charting on the iTunes Top Dance Songs Sales Chart.
Aside from all their music accomplishments Kosca has also tackled the social media scene with much fervor. The Kosca name is quickly becoming a norm in the music industry. The collaboration of these two artists has managed to produce great dividends. Keep a watch out as Kosca “our thing” makes more strides in the music world one banger after another.
