What do I hate more than peace, love and happiness? Ignorance is definitely at the top of my list of Most Hated Things in Life. According to those with half a brain still allowed to post comments online, gay men are not allowed to think of family, and of course not start one. Going against rule, African American homosexual fathers, Kordale and Kaleb were bathed in negative remarks after posting this picture of them getting their daughters ready for school.
Now here is my tidbit on the issue: unlike most people who take selfies in the bathroom, Kordale and Kaleb’s mirror is clean. Aside from the picture looking relatively better than most, what I see is a family.
Seeing as there are many children without a loving home, someone to teach them the meaning of family and parents who care enough to make sure they look decent as they leave the house, I don’t understand the issue. I feel the world has become to wrapped in old traditions that people are blind to progress. Had Kordale and Kaleb been heterosexual dads living in houses with their own wives, raising these same children, the community would have praised them for not being a stereotype.
I applaud all good fathers, gay or straight. What I see are two educated, healthy and loving men doing what black men are accused of not doing all the time.
I’d rather have two dads then none at all, wouldn’t you?
To Kordale and Kaleb: Continue to show the world that love has no color, no gender, no shame.
What are your thoughts on same-sex couples raising children? Don’t worry, I won’t judge you badly.
